Miricle Pogu, 26, and her husband, Charles, 87, have been blissfully married for three years despite their more than sixty-year age gap, and they have no intention of listening to her hurtful remarks. Online abuse of the couple, who want to use artificial insemination to have two children, is ongoing; some have referred to their union as a "business deal," according to The Sun.

However, Myrickle and Charles, who first connected while she was employed at a neighborhood laundry in Starkville, chose to express their happiness on social media. Miricle posted a video of the pair dancing at her house on TikTok. She included the following message with the video: "When you are happily married and carefree."

After being uploaded using the account @mnigeria98, the video quickly gained popularity, receiving 1.7 million views. Reactions on social media were divided; some people applauded the pair, while others harshly attacked them. One person said, "How wonderful." One more person said, "I like you." The third provided a brief statement of support: "Society always has something to say about other people's happiness, which says a lot about human misery."

However, they were not immune to criticism. One person said, "It's safe with him for the money." "I know a business deal when I see one," said another. "You mean, happily waiting for the payoff?" inquired a third.

Regarding their relationship, Miricle said that she was initially unsure of Charles's actual age: "I knew he was older, but I didn't know exactly how old." I had already fallen in love when I learned. I love him for who he is, regardless of how old he is—100 or 55. Because he looks so beautiful and is constantly busy and full of energy, I assumed he was 60 or 70 years old.

Though they are conscious of time restrictions, the pair is making plans for the future: "Charles says he might not be here in five years." He will, I assure him, and he will outlast all of us. I'm trying to make the most of our time together because I know I'll outlast him."

At first, her family did not approve of the relationship, and her father even contemplated skipping the wedding. "My grandfather said he was happy if I was happy, but my dad was disappointed" . He said that he needed more time to come to terms with her choice:

"I questioned him about his desire to lose me permanently. He would have lost me if he hadn't attended the wedding. Ultimately, upon meeting Charles, he  loved him."

The couple wishes to have more children, even though they are very different in age. Charles should have another generation, in my opinion. To find out our alternatives, we want to visit the IVF clinic. However, they encountered discrimination: "We experienced discrimination when we initially visited the clinic. As long as we have a child, I don't give a damn about it right now."

Despite knowing that Charles' advanced age may be a barrier, Miricle perseveres:

"I'm keeping an open mind – it might not work, but it's worth a try."

 Charles claims he is unaffected by the disparaging remarks:

"Mirikle is fantastic; she has constructed her life. For us, the age gap is not an issue. We're content, and that's all that matters. People on the Internet are simply chatting."
